How To Fix Lenovo Fingerprint Reader Not Working Easily - Driver Easy - Acer Kijiji.

 

United States of America. I've currently own a Lenovo fingerprint reader and fingerprint reader keyboard that I've used in the past under earlier versions of windows with Thinkcenters and Thinkpads using the older Lenovo Fingerprint reader software and drivers.

Which allowed one to choose how the fingerprint reader would operate. However I've not been having any luck connecting a fingerprint reader to the P running Windows I've setup everything according to the instructions and updated the biometric drivers. However both the fp keyboard and reader are sort of wonky, work only part of the time, have problems recognizing finger swipes both during and after training.

I think there's something wrong with the fingerprint keyboard as Windows 10 sometimes has problem recognizing it as a usb keyboard. Also the fingerprint reader as the training software has problem recognizing finger swipes during and after fingerprint training.

I've tried resetting the fingerprint data in the bios, tried several times to retrain the usb fingerprint reader. I've used fingerprint readers many years with Thinkcentres and Thinkpads and always was able to one swipe login at bootup. Perhaps both the fingerprint reader and fingerprint reader keyboard are just worn out as they seem only to barely work part of the time.

I should be able to one finger swipe login as I've done before with other Lenovo PC's? P never officially supported win10 as far as I know. However, it certainly sounds like you might have some sort of a sensor issue with your keyboard based on the info you posted. I'm setting this up now with a win8 image just to see how it acts. If I can get it functioning in win8 correctly, I'll see if I can do the free win10 upgrade to see if the functionality changes with the OS.

So far so good with testing on my side. The fingerprint reader seemed to act normally under win8. And even after running the win10 free update, everything still seemed to be functioning as expected from what I could tell. Note that in both scenarios, I was not prompted to swipe "during bootup". I believe it's relying on the swipe at the OS login in that case.

No additional software and drivers required. When the fingerprint reader is enabled in the bios, the bios displays a bootup fingerprint scan and then a second fingerprint scan is required to log into Windows There was an option for a one time fingerprint scan from the bios during bootup that allowed one to by pass the bios bootup password and the Windows Login Password using a single bios scan.

That option doesn't exist under Windows I've also tried installing two different Eikon fingerprint readers on the P using the Windows 10 Hello, setttings.

Neither Eikon Fingerprint readers are able to function correctly. There are problems while trying to memorize and recognize fingerprint scans. After many attempts I was able to finally able to train one or two fingers for both of the Eikon readers, howeve neither produced a bios scan during bootup and both had problem when trying to login to Windows Eikon Mini which is advertised to work with Windows 10 Hello after many attempts I was barely able to memorize on thumbprint.

It provided no bios scan and could not log into Windows 10 after muliple attempts. Totally useless installed on the P under Windows I'm not certain what's going on here as I see people with reviews that the Eikon Mini reader working great on their PCs running Windows I do have a Thinkcentre M93p I'll try the Eikon readers on as it's rarely used, with a fairly fresh installation of Windows View All.
